close read UP
i love movies that teach stuff
(disney movies DO teach stuff)
maybe its the habit retained from GREEN
but sometimes while watching all these
i tend to try and close read
why certain things are portrayed as that way in movies
UP is relatively easy to understand
and i think its really interesting how
different people
pick up different things from the same movie
dependent on the circumstances in their life,
their character and other factors.
its like during GREEN class,
we re all working on the same sources
but almost everyone came up with a different thesis
(or a pro-thesis that we had to shape up)
its amazing
and i wonder what others pick up from UP
to me
what really hit me was about letting go
mr frederickson (spelling not necessarily correct o_o)
and his house which spelt his attachment to Ellie.
(even knowing its fake and its a cartoon,
the devotion they showed to each other was touching~
and oh-so-sweet
i love soppy movies)
only when you truly let go, can you be set free
and only when you let go of the past,
then can you be able to move on and prepare for the future.
that really hit me cuz
i think for me
at this point in time
letting go about the past
is something i should really think about
not about letting go of my friends, nothing like that
but matters that have affected me and my mood
probably letting go would make me feel much better
(:
but i guess that ll have to wait for the right time
when like mr frederickson, i understand what the statement really means to me
that moment
will be when i can let go and be free!
like he was when he decided that the house wasnt everything that was left of him and ellie.
